Against the Proposed Tiered Airdrop Model by Community: Are We Letting Greed Decide Linea’s Airdrop Allocation?

Why Greed Shouldn’t Shape Linea’s Airdrop Strategy

Are We Letting Greed Decide Linea’s Airdrop Allocation?

The current narrative pushing for 16+ points and beyond as thresholds for top-tier allocations is fundamentally flawed and raises significant concerns about fairness, inclusivity, and the values of the Linea community. Here’s why this approach is problematic:

1. 8-9K LXP Points: The Realistic Maximum for Most Participants

  • Campaign Limits: Completing 100% of tasks and quests during Linea campaigns could net participants a maximum of 7K–9K LXP points, including bonus points from Testnet Linea NFTs (500–3K extra LXP). This represents the upper limit of what any dedicated user could achieve through active participation.

The Problem with 16K Points: Proposing a 16K-point threshold ignores this reality and sets an unrealistic bar that only a small minority could reach. It unfairly rewards those with disproportionate resources or the ability to game the system.

2. Retail Users Are the Backbone of Linea

  • Unequal Access: Not everyone had the time, funds, or opportunity to maximize their points. Many smaller participants contributed meaningfully but couldn’t afford to engage at the same level as top-tier users.
  • Meager Rewards for Retail Users: Some advocates for the 16K threshold are suggesting token allocations for smaller contributors that amount to crumbs. This dismissive approach risks alienating the majority of Linea’s community, which is vital for the ecosystem’s growth.

3. Who Benefits from Inflated Thresholds?

  • Self-Interest Rules: Let’s be honest—those pushing for a 16K-point threshold are doing so because they benefit the most. This isn’t about community fairness; it’s about maximizing their own rewards at the expense of everyone else.
  • Gaming the System: Some top-tier users have exploited the system by farming multiple wallets or leveraging early access to campaigns. Rewarding this behavior only widens the gap between whales and smaller participants.

4. A Better Path Forward: Capping at 8K Points

  • Realistic and Fair: Setting the maximum threshold at 8K points ensures rewards reflect genuine participation during campaigns. This prevents over-rewarding those with excessive time or resources while maintaining fairness.
  • Redistribute Excess Tokens: Tokens saved by capping thresholds can be redistributed to smaller retail users or reserved for long-term ecosystem incentives.
  • Flat Base Rewards: Introduce a base allocation for all participants, ensuring everyone who contributed meaningfully receives a fair share, regardless of tier.

5. Building a Community, Not a Club

  • Inclusivity Matters: Linea’s strength lies in its diverse community, not just the whales or top-tier participants. Over-rewarding a small group at the expense of the majority undermines trust and alienates the very users who will support Linea’s long-term success.
  • Encouraging Loyalty: A fair and balanced allocation system fosters loyalty and trust, motivating users to remain active and engaged in the ecosystem.

6. Motivations Behind Inflated Thresholds:

  • Self-Interest:
    • It’s evident that those advocating for inflated thresholds and larger allocations for higher tiers are heavily invested themselves.
    • Their recommendations are designed to serve their own interests, prioritizing larger rewards for whales and high-resource users at the expense of retail participants.
  • Exploitation of System:
    • Some top-tier participants may have farmed LXP and Testnet NFTs across multiple wallets or benefited disproportionately from early knowledge of the campaigns. Rewarding this behavior with higher allocations further disadvantages honest contributors.

Final Thoughts: Let’s Keep It Fair

The push for a 16K-point threshold is a disservice to the values Linea stands for. By capping rewards at 8K points, we can ensure that token distribution is fair, realistic, and reflective of genuine contributions. Let’s prioritize inclusivity and community over exclusivity and self-interest because Linea’s future depends on all of us, not just a select few.

You also hate the og nft collection.
and you advocate linear distribution.
and at the same time you belittle people who put in a lot of effort.
So basically your intentions cannot possibly be well-intentioned.

How do you recognise Sybils?
*They never want high Lxp holders to get good rewards.
*They try to dilute the reward as much as possible. For them, it doesn’t matter who spends a lot of effort with a single wallet.
*They advocate linear distribution instead of a tier system.
*They try to set a maximum reward limit for those who spend the most effort. (Since they have hundreds of wallets, they try to increase the minimum reward)
*While they still have the opportunity to become a real part of Linea, they argue that this is wrong and continue to live in their own little world.
*They have a great hatred for OG NFT collections.
*They do not produce or support in any way, all they do is sell the next token reward in the same minute.

I’m not against OG NFT collections, I’m against huge multiplier suggesting by them just because they hold it, While large LXP holders may have spent more time and resources, a huge multiplier system favors those with the most resources, making it easier for Sybils to game the system by creating multiple wallets.

Spending the most money doesn’t inherently mean more genuine effort it can often enable Sybil attacks.

The goal is to reward true, sustained participation, not just those with the deepest pockets or the largest number of wallets.

ha ha ha, are you serious? so this is a clear description of your behavior on the forum

You have already been responded to many times for your aggressive attacks on the forum (now you have started to act more cunningly). You have already been flagged many times for repetitions and similar topics. You have been given many counterarguments that you do not read, because you do not care and you lobby for your own interests. It is obvious that there is nothing to discuss and talk to you, you do not see the arguments.

There is ONLY 1 TOPIC WITH THE IDEA OF CONDITIONAL 5 POINTS on the forum and there is a topic discussing Testnet NFT.

I think the community would benefit if we did not have to read these duplicates.

Lol, another greedy dude who bet on a farm and now can’t stand other people’s privileges

How afraid he is of the idea that someone will be rewarded not only for LXP. God, how are you still alive with such greed?

You sew fakes and substitutions of concepts into the very ideas of rewards everywhere. You write about anything except the fight against real sybils and sybil farms, which is the main threat to everything.

Stop diverting the focus from the main thing.

It’s clear that you’re frustrated, but let’s keep the discussion respectful and productive. I’m not ignoring any counterarguments, and it’s not about lobbying for personal interests—it’s about finding a fair solution for all participants. Repeating myself isn’t about stubbornness; it’s about making sure important concerns are heard, especially regarding fairness and inclusivity in the reward system. If you believe my points are repetitive, I encourage you to engage with them thoughtfully, rather than dismissing them outright. We’re all here to contribute to Linea’s success, and that requires open dialogue, not silencing diverse perspectives.

It seems like you’re misinterpreting the intent here. I’m not afraid of rewarding participants based on more than just LXP—I’m advocating for a reward system that recognizes all forms of genuine contribution. It’s about ensuring the rewards are fair and reflective of true engagement, not just those with the most LXP or the deepest pockets. The real threat isn’t just Sybil farming; it’s a system that disproportionately rewards the few and undermines the efforts of the many. Let’s focus on creating a balanced, inclusive reward system that benefits everyone, and not get lost in the weeds of misplaced accusations.

We recommend you to see facts and read whole thing before jumping

Flagged because my views don’t match yours? LOL. Even you must see how disproportionate the token allocations being recommended are. If speaking out against that is a crime, then it’s clear we have a much bigger issue with the fairness of the system than just differing opinions. Let’s focus on ensuring fair distribution for everyone, not just those with the most resources.

In every topic you always try to cause controversy and seek attention … dude hope you get well soon, looks like you’re addicted to the drama and can’t stay away from it

linea does not currently have its official nft collection.
We don’t have libertas omnibus as with zk or nft odyssey as with arbitrum.
We are an L2 project, not a nft marketplace or pugy penguis meme.

What? Hahaha, please stop making stuff up. The Linea ecosystem and its community are bursting with opportunities and money time right now. But how would people know that when they’re spending 24/7 on the forum claiming this very community is useless?

The problem is you’re acting more like a boss-distributor than a community member. You ignore and dismiss arguments and counterarguments, and yeah, you’re lobbying your own interests and twisting narratives - as others in the community have pointed out. A fair solution isn’t the one where only paperlesshash ends up happy and grinning. It’s way too easy to manipulate “fairness” and pull the blanket over to your side.

It’s pretty obvious you don’t trust Linea or the current trends taking shape - otherwise, you wouldn’t be doing what you’ve been doing for quite some time now.

It’s. Perhaps the importance of something should be determined by the forum and the audience?

Unfortunately, these are empty words that mean nothing.

Stop talking nonsense and making up fakes in every message. You were flagged for duplicate topics and spamming links to them.

I already responded to your messages about distribution and eFrogs and about your pseudo-fairness, to which I did not receive a clear answer from you except hysteria.

Who are “we”? Speak for yourself.

This time, you mixed your community ideas with that shady Testnet NFT situation. Clever move, I’ll give you that. But I’m not wasting a single minute on this because you don’t care. You’re just here to spam topics and push your version of “fairness.”

Fair is whatever benefits paperlesshash.

Anything that rewards others significantly more than paperlesshash? Totally unfair.

If the reward is just $1 more than his, he might tolerate it without throwing a tantrum.

But the drama will go on until Linea caves to his ultimatum and falls for his manipulative antics.

A quick summary of all this guy’s topics. It’s hilarious watching him sprinkle the word fairness into literally every sentence he writes.

There are already two separate topics discussing these ideas. Why did you create another one with the same stuff? Turning the forum into trash under your authorship-does that align with your version of “fairness”?

No issue with someone being a drop hunter. The problem is when that drop hunter thinks they’re above everyone else, above the community, and tries to dictate terms under flashy headlines and slogans.

It’s obvious how “deeply in love” he is with Linea - so much so that nobody in the community has ever heard of him. And his Twitter? Just a handful of Linea reposts, straight out of the classic drop hunter playbook.
