A message that captured the response of thousands of souls who want a fair community-driven projects. Dear Linea team, do not be greedy and your generosity will be rewarded. We are not asking to repeat the experience of Hyperliquid, since Linea is a different, unique and beautiful creation full of megaminds in team, but if you really want to prove your words that Linea is a public good, a product where relationships are not built on one-sided benefit and enrichment of bunch of not interested in product VCs, then think about 25%+ allocation on TGE for the community, setting a new record for L2 networks and proving the importance of the community. No excuses, no locks, no thousands of random criteria and people who have only been with Linea for a couple of days or have no relation to it at all - in other words, no drama. You have already proven that you can build a fair and reliable contribution evaluation system by creating LXP based campaigns. You have proven your honest and selfless attitude to your community many times. And I ask you with all my heart and on behalf of the entire community, do not screw up at the last, final stage. Show your real level on TGE, set the bar so high that any web3 marketing will look like bauble compared to you. We WERE with you no matter how bad the market is and no matter how many haters there are around. We ARE with you no matter how bad the market is and no matter how many haters there are around. We WILL BE with you no matter how bad the market is and no matter how many haters there are around. And we ask you on our last journey for the same favor. The power lies in the community!
Yes, they should consider 20 to 25% and get the tag of biggest airdrop of history from a L2 chain. Hyperliquid given 31% reward to their community. I fully agreed.
From my research, the biggest L2 airdrop was ZK at 17.5%. However, there were some question marks over the sybil resistance which is why people suggest ARB at ~10% was perceived more favourably.
In fact, the arbitrumās system is not suitable for Linea, there were not many sybils at that time and the number of industrial farmers was quite small.
So what Linea should do is introduce a tier system. Each tier should widen the gap between the rewards.
What is unpopular about ZKS is its distribution rules, not the distribution percentage. I think 20% allocation to the community is a very good start. The community has been supporting Linea for a long time. Such rewards will greatly stimulate the potential of the community and make the community full of vitality and passion.
Frankly, you donāt seem to understand the community At the time of Arbitrum there were not so many sybils.
So if your plan is to make an airdrop like arbitrum, real users will not be rewarded.
What do I mean by that?
If you give a decent amount as a minimum reward to users who put very little effort, most of the tokens will go to them because they have too many accounts. What you need to do is reward real users who put in a good amount of effort. $HYPE is a good example of the way you should go, I hope I made it clear, Iām talking about a very simple rule, donāt reward users who put too little effort.
Hyperliquid is a good project to learn but we should lower our expectation. I donāt expect Linea will give reward as good as HYPE. High expectation will always make people to be disappointed.
