hey Linea, I have an idea regarding the distribution of tokens, it is based on the following assumptions:
in the case of a single user, 2 pools lxp and lxpl are taken into account.
the user receives a reward for only one pool (where he is higher in the ranking)
the 2nd pool (where the user is lower in the ranking) is treated as a bonus and if the user exceeded the average value of accumulated lxp (~ 2.5k lxp) or lxpl (58k lxpl) he gets a bonus (5,10,15%, it’s up to you ) to the prize he received for the first pot
example:
someone has 8k lxp (position in lxp rank 1200) and 100k lxpl (position 200k in rank lxpl) receives a reward for the LXP tier + a % bonus for exceeding the average LXP-L value for the account
other: 20 million lxpl (position 400 in rank lxpl) and 2000 lxp. Receives a reward for the LXPL tier but without a bonus (2k LXP is lower than the average amount of LXP per wallet)
Please consider this algorithm. It is not about % values, average values or tiers, but about the methodology itself.
My concern is that cross-pollinating LXP and LXP-L could end up with strange reward profiles. Users who score high in LXP tend to score low in LXP-L and vice versa. Perhaps users who are median in both end up with the highest reward which I’m no sure is correct.
I’d be interesting to see others support for this proposal. If so, it’s something we could model to understand the resulting distribution to add some more colour.
I didn’t specify this in the original post in the assumptions, but to determine the amount of rewards for each pool, we set tiers.
And so if someone is in both the LXP and LXP-L median, they are assigned to the pool where they are higher in the ranking.
Then we look at the tiers and assign the user to a specific tier in a given pool.
Unfortunately, I don’t know what the median lxp or lxpl is, but the tier to which the user will be assigned will not be Tier1, Tier2, maybe even Tier3…
I think the amount of reward will be average + bonus % for the value exceeding the average value in the pool with a lower ranking
lxp and lxp-l are independent of each other and can never be together. lxp will be much more valuable than lxp-l.
that was the biggest promise they ever made to us.
And here they are treated separately because you are assigned to one (where the ranking is better), and if you are high enough in the ranking of the second one, you can count on an additional bonus% to the prize
%bonus 5,10,15…50%? It depends on what supply Linea has on drop
Perhaps, for this system to work better, it shouldn’t be based on ranking position but rather on the size of the reward.
We know that in such a system, the LXP pool would need to be much more valuable than the LXP-L pool, at a ratio of 2/3 LXPs and 1/3 LXP-L, or even more, 80% LXPs and 20% LXP-L.
If it were based solely on ranking, someone who ranked 1000 in LXPs and 600 in LXP-L, for example, would fall into the LXP-L pool and be highly disadvantaged. If the criterion is the reward size, this issue doesn’t occur.
What I would adjust in the bonus is to set the criterion for the LXP-L pool not as the average but as twice the average (~119,472 XP). Achieving more than 50k XP in Surge was quite easy compared to staying above the LXP average.
Great review.
The system should check where the user is entitled to a higher prize depending on the position held and direct him to this pool as the basic pool.
And the limit amount lxp or lxpl from which the bonus would be received is already a secondary issue, as is the bonus% or levels, the amount of prizes in individual pools.
I think Linea can already adjust this itself so that the suply matches;)
hi The proposal to cross lxp and lxpl is a very bad proposal. It will tear the linea community apart and pit lxp and lxpl owners against each other. It will make both lxp and lxpl feel unfair. In fact, it is also very unfair to top lxp owners. I have been participating in linea’s ecology for 2 years and the head lxp l owners have no doubt that they have made a huge contribution to tvl
Once lxp and lxpl cross, linea’s most loyal lxp and lxpl fans will be disappointed. So please stay calm, objective and fair about this proposal.
There is no crossover between lxp and lxp-l, the user receives the benefit of being involved in one pool (lxp or lxp-l, not lxp and lxp-l), at most you can receive an additional bonus if you are also included in the ranking in the second one
I personally prefer the simple criteria that everyone can easily understand without any script based calculation. That is why Arbitrum criteria has been very popular because it is very straightforward.
