Airdrop distribution categories

Hello, dear forum participants and the Linea team. Today, I would like to discuss not the mechanics of token distribution but rather the categories of token distribution.

  1. As an L2 solution, Linea generates substantial revenue from blockchain users who pay network fees. Therefore, it is natural that participants in the LXP and LXP-L programs have preferential rights. However, I kindly ask the respected Linea team for just one thing — to fairly evaluate the amount of fees spent in the network, as well as the time spent in the network and the wallet age. It is also crucial to consider the use of the Linea blockchain outside of the LXP and LXP-L companies (this is important because farmers who join just to farm rewards from the companies will immediately affect the market by selling tokens).
  2. NFT holders and holders of certain tokens. Previously, on the official Linea mirror, an article was published highlighting the significant contributions of communities such as Foxy, efrogs, and Linus. I would also like to note that token distributions from strong projects have always gone to NFT holders, which has become a kind of axiom in the crypto community. It would be interesting to categorize collections into OG and secondary collections. Personally, I consider Ethereum Frogs to be the OG NFT collection on the Linea blockchain.
  3. Linea ambassadors — active Twitter and Discord participants who have supported Linea’s development throughout its journey. I think creating connectors for Twitter and Discord for the Linea team wouldn’t be difficult. Evaluating each participant’s contributions through the content they have produced on social media, which has helped Linea’s marketing efforts, would be a fair approach.
  4. Linea developers — I believe that meaningful proposals on GitHub Consensys should also be rewarded with Linea tokens. After all, developers are the foundation of projects.
  5. Linea Community participants — I firmly believe that thoughtful proposals regarding the proper distribution of tokens should also be rewarded with Linea tokens. Considering that every profile on this forum appears to have a Discord connector, it would be easy to identify outstanding individuals and subsequently reward them.

Thank you for your attention! With respect to everyone, zetherka.eth

I like the idea of rewarding real users.
That’s what we need. @Thisu

Great points! I agree that the airdrop should consider more than just LXP and LXPL. Including factors like network fees, wallet age, and activity outside those programs makes a lot of sense to reward genuine users.

Also, love the idea of recognizing NFT holders, ambassadors, developers, and active community members. They’ve all contributed significantly to Linea’s growth and deserve to be rewarded.

Most of these criteria, such as fees, months on the network, and the number of transactions, are actively exploited by sybils and are purely sybil-oriented metrics. Such proposals only advance their interests. Even now, if you analyze the network’s activity, you can spot participants who are actively farming these metrics with their farms.

Bonuses and rewards should be given for activities that are difficult to scale.

Yes, but when a person comes to farm only a company, and makes one transaction to enter liquidity, and then a second transaction to withdraw liquidity, I am now talking about LXP-L, how is it useful for the blockchain? How to find the golden mean then?

Liquidity providers are very important for the success and functionality of a blockchain. To address low-effort farming (e.g., depositing and withdrawing quickly), we could implement a minimum lock-up period to qualify for rewards or introduce a tiered system based on duration .

I agree, the tier system is simply necessary for fair distribution.

NFT is gaining more power in token distribution across projects, serving as a tool to engage early users and potentially as protection against Sybil attacks. In any case, highlighting important collections for airdrop distribution is a good idea.
