Honestly, Linea’s tokenomics are probably some of the best and fair we’ve seen in the ecosystem for a while.
We are aware that since around 3–6 months ago, the team stated there would be no rewards for running nodes.
However, please also recognize that before that, the same team occasionally encouraged users to run their own nodes via platforms like EasyNode.
just a few months ago, you (LINEA team) even sent out a form specifically for node runners to fill out. Here is the link to the form for your reference.
* Attention Linea Node Runners!**
The Linea Technical support team has been diligently working on the Linea Node Runners Survey: and we need your valuable input!
This survey will be distributed across our TG Node Runners channel, Discord and Forum.
**What is the goal? **
We aim to gather responses from our community, specifically from regular users who run Linea Nodes. Your feedback will help us collect crucial information on the tech stack and storage capacity you use.
Why is this important? By analyzing the data from this survey, we can enhance our documentation and provide more tailored information on the stack options needed for ordinary users to run a node. This will help us address common issues and improve the overall experience for all node runners.
How can you help?
Complete the Survey: Fill out the survey following the link (sorry, I’m not able to share the link)
Spread the Word: Encourage other Linea Node Runners to participate.Thank you for your cooperation and support in making the Linea Node experience better for everyone.
Actually, we’re not asking you to allocate massive amounts of tokens to node runners.* For many of us (myself included), running a Linea node *has been a deeply enriching experience in understanding the blockchain and how it works.* In fact, Linea was the first node I ever ran manually (before switching over to EasyNode a few months later). Watching the code run, understanding how the node connected to the blockchain, implementing estimated gas fees — all of that was truly educational. It’s something I won’t forget. Who knows — maybe our future dApps on Linea will be born from this experience.
Now that reward time is here… I must admit it hurts a little to be left out.
Some communities (like E-Fogs, Foxy, etc.) will likely be rewarded just for minting or buying a simple NFT. Meanwhile, others like us, who engaged with a more technical and financial aspect like running nodes, will be excluded.
Receiving tokens — even if locked for 6 months, a year, or more — would still feel much better than receiving nothing at all.
Even if it’s insignificant to you, it would strengthen the feeling of having contributed to *somETHing*. The overall sentiment would only be positive.
Thank you.
A LINEAN since the first day.
