Reward the community for it's patience

Given the recent delay in the Token Generation Event (TGE), I strongly recommend adjusting Linea’s tokenomics to better reward dedicated contributors (those with 1000+ LXP, or a higher threshold) by boosting the community airdrop allocation by 2% for each month the TGE slips past Q1. This would fairly compensate patient Linea supporters for their loyalty during this unexpected delay while deepening the project’s bond with its users. It’s a strategic move to turn a setback into a strength, rewarding those who’ve stuck around and fueling community momentum.

History backs this up—projects that have dropped 10% or more of their token supply to their communities have often seen remarkable success. Here’s a list of standout examples:

  1. Uniswap (UNI) - In 2020, Uniswap airdropped 15% of its total supply (150 million UNI tokens) to early users and liquidity providers. This sparked widespread adoption and solidified its status as a top decentralized exchange.

  2. Hyperliquid (HYPE) - In November 2024, Hyperliquid distributed 31% of its 1 billion HYPE supply (310 million tokens) to early adopters. Valued at over $7.5 billion at its peak, this massive airdrop—the largest in crypto history—drove a 600%+ price surge and boosted total value locked, showcasing the power of community-first allocation.

  3. Starknet (STRK) - In 2024, Starknet airdropped 10% of its total supply (1 billion STRK tokens) to early users and developers. This fueled ecosystem growth and reinforced its position as a leading Layer 2 solution.

  4. Jito (JTO) - In 2023, Jito airdropped 10% of its supply to Solana users who interacted with its staking protocol. The drop catalyzed adoption and highlighted the value of rewarding active participants.

  5. Grass (GRASS) - In late 2024, Grass allocated 10% of its supply to its first airdrop phase for users contributing computing power. With plans for a second phase at 17%, it’s building a loyal base in decentralized infrastructure.

These cases prove that substantial, well-executed airdrops can ignite a project’s growth. By increasing Linea’s community allocation in response to the delay, the team could transform a challenge into a rallying point, rewarding key contributors and setting the stage for a tighter-knit, more energized ecosystem. Thoughts?

good idea. The base allocation is 20%, after march, 2% increasing for each month
