Yes, I saw many wallet with approx 1000LXP which is Sybil, but there are also genuine users with less than 100 LXP points.
Note that many sybil wallet can also generate high volume high frequency transaction similar to a real “farmer” also.
How do we remove Sybil then?
If the wallet is solely used for Linea farming with no other on chain organic uses, it should not be eligible for airdrop Sybil or not. If it pass this criteria, then award accordingly based on points tier system without any min points requirements to include genuine users who didn’t farm much.
People who barely engaged deserve an airdrop? There are almost 250K wallets with less than 1,500 LXP, and 90% of them are Sybils. The rest? Mostly the same people who kept fudding Linea before every quest, calling it a scam.
Now it’s Linea’s choice, do they try to please these people, who still won’t be happy no matter what, or do they reward their real, loyal users, the ones who trusted Linea from the start and will likely continue supporting it post-TGE if they get rewarded well.
This is exactly the problem, when gas fees were sky-high and tasks were tough, there were barely 300K people grinding. The moment gas dropped to dust levels and tasks got easier, suddenly millions of so called ‘1.5k LXP loyal users’ appeared, and now they expect an airdrop.
If team decided to raise the bar of LXP to above 2000LXP, literally spammers will start fudding on forum, social media and discord more.
It may not eliminate all Sybils, but having 4,000+ LXP significantly reduces them, that’s just a fact.
There are hardly 20K wallets above 6,000 LXP. If it was that easy to farm, we’d see way more high-LXP wallets, but we don’t.
